Technical Department
Chemist
Responsibilities/ Requirements
  • Receive, prepare and analyze quality control samples such as DRI/HBI. Iron Ore pellets, Ferro alloys & additives from various points throughout the production process and provide quick and accurate information to the production and commercial functions in order to insure conformance to quality standards.
  • Bachelor Degree in Chemistry or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 3 years relevant laboratory work experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of test equipment, methods and procedures in own area (physical, mechanical or chemical)
  • Ability to operate modern equipment such as XRF, OES, ICP, etc
  • Knowledge of operating and safety procedures and standards

Metallurgical Engineer
Responsibilities/ Requirements
  • Provide technical leadership to the quality control operation and act as the quality control arbiter for raw materials, work in progress and finished goods to ensure that customers are consistently provided with conforming product.
  • Evaluate production process QC results and identify appropriate action to be taken to enable the achievement of consistent product conformance.
  • Provide metallurgical clearance to the production process in cases of alterations to the production plan in order to support the achievement of optimal cost, quality conforming product.
  • Investigate customer product quality claims, identify and analyze the root cause of the claim.
  • Identify and develop improvements to QC testing standards, policies and procedures in order to support continuous improvements.
  • Investigate major non-conformances in the production process: identifying and recommending appropriate corrective action.
  • Ensure effective co-ordination with other departments by acting as key interface in the production process, in order to support the achievement of corporate production objectives.
  • Organize & plan QMS & product certification audits with external auditors to ensure effectiveness of processes.
  • Bachelor degree in metallurgical engineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Iron & Steel Making field


Material control Department
Shovel loader/pay loader operator
Responsibilities/ Requirements
  • Experience in slag digging under the electric arc furnace
  • Valid heavy equipment/ shovel loader license
  • Familiar with digging plans, capabilities and limitation of machine; implementing safe digging practice under the furnace on every slag tapping
  • Technical diploma
  • Knowledge of preventive inspection/maintenance of shovel loaders/pay loaders
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as shovel loader operator
Scarp Conductor (scarp preparatory, slag pit operator, additive supply operators)
Responsibilities/ Requirements
  • Familiar with different specification/type of scraps
  • Knowledge of slinging and signaling
  • Able to operate various conveyor belts – bucket elevator, conveyor, belts, flexowell belts
  • Familiar with slag handling operation
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance and inspection of material handling equipment
  • Able to operate computerized system of material supply to baskets
  • Technical diploma
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in scarp handling system in material handling section

Maintenance Department
Electrical maintenance engineer
Responsibilities/ Requirements
  • Experience in maintenance of SVC, MCCS, GIS, transformers; medium voltage H.T switch gears (Siemens & ABB)
  • Experience in steel melt shop, with excellent programming/ troubleshooting & documentation skills of Siemens PLC & SCADA mainly S-7 200/300/400 series PLC, WINCC, AC drives
  • Excellent knowledge of networking

Mechanical engineer
Responsibilities/ Requirements
  • Experience in maintenance of electric Arc Furnace and continuous casting equipment
  • In depth knowledge of hydraulics and hydraulic equipment
  • Responsible for plant reliability, availability and cost reduction activities
  • Carry out PM scheduling and follow up

Utility process engineer
Responsibilities/ Requirements
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of utilities of large integrated steel plants – natural gas, cryogenic type oxygen/nitrogen plant, cooling water treatment plants, seawater and compressed air
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry and international codes & standards for pumps, compressors, cooling water system equipment, piping in various utilities equipment maintenance practice and management


Qualifications/skills
Required for maintenance department engineers
Bachelor in engineering in respective engineering field
Minimum 7 years experience in the respective area
Good analytical ability and troubleshooting skills
Good computer knowledge (Microsoft office package and ERP)
Mill Wright (material handling, electric Arc Furnace, hydraulic & finishing)


Responsibilities/ Requirements
Experience in steel plant or chemical process plant
Experience preventive maintenance of rotating equipment – gear box, compressors & pumps, hydraulic systems; ability to do trouble shooting

Repairman (EOT crane, central repair shop)
Responsibilities/ Requirements
  • Carry out inspection and maintenance of EOT crane, both electrical and mechanical
  • Experience in central workshop services for steel plants

Plant electrician
Responsibilities/ Requirements
  • Work experience in steel melting plant preferred
  • Knowledge of PLC, drives, motors, circuit breaker, schematic diagram, soft starters and field devises; troubleshooting & maintenance

Instrument technician
Responsibilities/ Requirements
  • Work experience in steel melting plant preferred
  • Knowledge of DCS, sensors, transmitters and field devices; troubleshooting & maintenance

Utility system operator & maintenance technician
Responsibilities/ Requirements
  • Experience in compressed air station, natural gas receiving station, water pumping station of an integrated steel plant
  • Knowledge of basic water chemistry, pump operation and control, compressor and control

Fabricator, welder, machinist & mechanical repairman (iron work)
Responsibilities/ Requirements
  • Relevant trade certificate
  • Fabricator and mechanical repairman (iron work) must have minimum 5 to 10 years’ industrial experience in structural/ heavy fabrication product application related to shop fabrication & field repairing work in heavy/steel industries
  • Welder must have 5-10 years’ practical welding experience and able to carry out all welding process from P1 to P8 materials in line to heavy fabrication/erection in petrochemical industries for carbon steel and stainless steel materials
  • Welder must possess valid welder certified qualification
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of center lathes, turret lathes, milling machines, slotting machines, radial drilling machines, etc


Steel Making Department
A. Electric Furnace/Ladle Furnce
EAF/LF Plant Supervisor
Responsibilities/ Requirements
  • Evaluate/Utilise technical development to support continuous improvement
  • Undertake cost reduction activities
  • Experience in DRI melting EAF preferred
  • Experience in continuous casting will be added advantage
  • Knowledge of plant and process specification
  • Well versed with safety, environment and quality procedures and standards
  • Bachelor degree in metallurgy
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in EAF/Ladle furnace operation

EF/Plant Supervisor
Responsibilities
  • Experience in DRI melting EAF preferred
  • Experience in continuous casting will be an added advantage
  • Well versed with safety, environment and quality procedures and standards

EF/LF Shift Supervisor & Operations
Responsibilities
  • For EF shift Supervisor, experience in DRI melting EAF preferred
  • Experience in continuous casting will be an added advantage
  • Well versed with safety, environment and quality procedures and standards

EF preparation & SPA/CON Controller
Responsibilities
  • Experience in EAF and LF operations
  • Well versed with safety, environment and quality procedures and standards
  • General Qualifications for EF/LF Staff
  • Graduate/Diploma in metallurgical engineering, science or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience for degree holders an 5 years’ experience for diploma holders in EAF/Ladle furnace operation
  • Good knowledge in computer application/ERP
  • Good in English Language
  • Age blew 40 years
